Installed Art
</dc:subject>
 <content type="text" xml:lang="en" xml:base="http://www.angelaridgway.com/blog/content/angelas-art">
   &nbsp; Last year, I was fortunate to be able to create art for a couple in the Arden Park neighborhood in Sacramento.&nbsp; They've put lots of time and effort into making their yard and patio a true haven.&nbsp; I was honored when they asked me to create custom art for this haven. :-)

  I created art to go with the&nbsp;brown and blue tones in the patio just outside the kitchen.&nbsp;&nbsp;A beautiful fountain sits to one side, with a small 'creek' running through the patio, opening up to a full cascading 'infinity' fountain with a reservoir below.&nbsp;

 &nbsp;   "blue planet"

  The first piece I created was&nbsp;a hanging piece made from&nbsp;scrap remnant steel.&nbsp; The two pieces were slightly rusted with beautiful patterns.&nbsp; The weld patterns mimic those rust patterns and give a very organic feel.&nbsp; These are highlighted in blue-green to give the look/feel of water.
   &nbsp;

 &nbsp;    "time bowl"    &nbsp;
   The next piece was&nbsp;another wall piece using an old 24" tractor plow disc.&nbsp; This piece is heavy ... over 20 pounds!!&nbsp; I used&nbsp;colors and patterns to contrast with the brown walls.  &nbsp;

 &nbsp;

 &nbsp;    "reflections at play"    &nbsp;
   Now, for the main attraction ...&nbsp;a sculpture that&nbsp;sits in the fountain resevoir.&nbsp; I decided to make multiple 'mini-sculptures' so the sculpture could be moved easily for any fountain maintenance.&nbsp;&nbsp;I created   " reflections at play"    out of old wagon wheel rims, remnant circles, and spheres, with a 12" steel sphere at the center.&nbsp; My&nbsp;inspiration for this sculpture and its&nbsp;patterns was&nbsp;light&nbsp;reflecting off glass and water.&nbsp; I have to say, I do think the&nbsp;end result&nbsp;is&nbsp;quite playful!  &nbsp;  &nbsp;

  &nbsp;
  &nbsp;
  &nbsp;
  &nbsp;
 &nbsp;&nbsp;

  I hope you've enjoyed seeing these pictures ... and thanks to my clients for the great project, and choosing my artwork for their home!&nbsp;

  Kristen Hoard &nbsp;and I&nbsp;had a great show at the Blue Wing Gallery in Woodland in February.&nbsp; I was a little sad&nbsp;to see it come down&nbsp;today.&nbsp; Hopefully, we'll be able to show it in other venues ... like High Hand Gallery in Loomis, and upstairs at 2110 Gallery in Sacramento.&nbsp; I'll keep you posted.

 Here are a few pictures from the opening reception.&nbsp; Thanks for everyone who came out then, and throughout the month!&nbsp; And thanks Sandy, Al, Reid, and Clare at Blue Wing Gallery for a great show!!
